An iPhone 4 Case Will Fix The Signal And Antenna Issues Say Customers
There have been posts in forums and blogs by the boat load from iPhone 4 customers about the iPhone antenna and signal issues. The issues all speak of a complete loss in signal strength on the iPhone 4 while making a call, and even a complete loss of data signal strength while surfing the internet or using the data services on the iPhone 4.
All things seem to lead to the way you hold your iPhone. The iPhone 4 reception issue. While it may sound silly, it's a very real problem for thousands of iPhone 4 owners.I'm constantly talking on my iPhone, whether it's on my way to work, or for casual conversations with friends throughout the day. When the iPhone 4 is held in the most natural way in your hands, there is a complete and total loss of all signal from the antenna and even data is not available. The display of the signal bars on the phone drop from a full 4 or 5 bars right down to nothing and your calls are immediately dropped.
Apple has been slow to address this issue, stating only that holding it in this way will show a drop in your signal, and that the signal bar issues will be fixed in an upcoming software update, and have to do with the signal strength not actually being correct.I do however find it very hard to believe that this alone is the cause for the dropped calls on the iPhone 4, despite it being the only thing Apple will say.
There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone. With a case on your iPhone 4 you won't experience any of the dropped calls or antenna issues no matter how you're holding your phone. It is just another prime example that there is some truth to the rumours about bad designs or the wrong materials being used for the iPhone 4 itself. Now, mind you, I'm a firm believer in putting a case on your iPhone 4. It's an expensive investment, and spending $10.00 - $20.00 on a cover or case that fully protects your phone just makes perfect sense in my opinion.I certainly don't want scratches or scuffs on my iPhone 4, but that doesn't take away from the problem I have with this whole signal issue going on with a brand new phone.
The popular gadget news blog Gizmodo has posted about a rumoured Apple silent recall for the iPhone 4 for select iPhone 4 owners. When they get a replacement iPhone 4, and the signal drops and reception issues don't seem to be there in the new iPhone 4 they are receiving.I have to point out that this talk of a silent recall is just that, only talk, and not something that has been stated by Apple. But a good number of customers have noticed that the signal loss issue has all buy disappeared on their swapped out iPhone 4. While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.
